Corten steel requires no maintenance.
The material is delivered with a light oil film that protects the surface during transport – simply wash with warm, soapy water after installation to remove it.
The surface will then naturally develop a warm rust patina, which protects the steel from corrosion and gives it a living, architectural character.
💡 To accelerate patination, lightly spray the surface with a mild saltwater solution.
