Water supply is hidden and happens from below. There is a hole in the bottom plate for that. Use only drinking water approved hose and fittings. It must be possible to disconnect water to avoid frost burst.
The drain is led to at drain or directly into the ground. If it is led into the ground, a biogradable dishwashing detergent must be used.
Galvanized steel is a well-known treatment of steel, where a zinc treatment makes the metal extra hardy and maintenance-free. All byJEMA galva products are made from hot-dip galvanized sheet that is laser cut, bent and bolted together.
As the hot-dip galvanized surface is broken by laser cutting, some rusting may occur in joints. You could say that about 1/3 of the galvanization is "pulled" through the cut, leaving about 2/3 of the exposed steel. Over time, this cut will develop a form of corrosion and become darker in color than the other parts of the sheet. In the same way that the galvanized surface changes colour over time from a shiny surface to a more matte surface. All byJEMA products, planters and steel benches, are designed with these cuts in mind. As such, the cuts are all uniform and attempted to be hidden via bends on the CUBY series.
Don't worry about the durability of galvanized steel sheet. It is extremely durable in the harsh Scandinavian climate, and any scratches - or cuts for that matter - have a way of repairing themselves as the zinc continues to develop a protective layer.
Occasionally, you can clean the galva sheets with lukewarm water and a soft cloth or sponge. Never use detergent on the surface.
If soil, sand and dirt have settled on the surface, it may be a good idea to clean the dirty panels, as there is a higher risk of white rust in dirty areas.
