Corten steel requires no maintenance.
The material is supplied with a temporary oil film that protects it during transport – simply wash lightly with warm soapy water after installation to remove it.
The surface will then gradually patinate from bright orange to a warm, dark rust tone.
This process protects the steel against corrosion and creates a vibrant, natural appearance.
💡 If a faster patination is desired, the surface can be lightly sprayed with salt water to accelerate the process.

Are they available in closed versions?
Yes – we produce both open and closed bed rings, depending on needs and application.
🔓 Open bed rings: Ideal for installation around existing trees, flagpoles, or posts. Rings under Ø100 cm are supplied in one piece, while rings from Ø100 cm are supplied in two or more parts. They are assembled around the object using the included steel bolts and nuts, which will naturally develop a patina over time to match the ring.
⭕ Closed bed rings: Supplied welded and ready for installation – ideal for newly planted trees where separation is not required.
Can corten steel bed rings remain outdoors all year round?
Yes – corten steel is designed for outdoor use and withstands all weather conditions.
Are they delivered assembled?
No – bed rings are supplied as self-assembly with bolts and fixing stakes for easy installation.
Will the patina develop evenly?
The colour development naturally varies depending on sunlight, moisture, and surroundings – small differences in tone are part of the material’s unique character.
