Material:
Corten steel – a corrosion-resistant steel that develops a beautiful, protective rust patina over time.
Delivered with a thin oil film and therefore not rusted upon delivery.
Placement:
• Can be used on solid surfaces such as tiles, concrete or gravel
• Base plate – optionally with wheels – can be purchased (recommended on fixed surfaces such as tiles and stone)
• Must be placed on a flat and stable surface
💡 During the first few uses, the fire pit may move slightly due to heat expansion. Once it cools, it settles back into place – and stabilises after a few heating cycles.
Corten steel:
We recommend washing with mild soapy water after assembly to remove the oil film.
The patination process then begins naturally and forms a protective layer against further corrosion.
The colour gradually develops from light orange to deep reddish-brown tones, giving a natural and rustic appearance.
Corten steel lasts up to eight times longer than ordinary steel – and in Danish conditions often more than 50 years.
💡 When placing on tiles or wood, we recommend using a base plate to avoid rust staining. Any marks can be removed with oxalic acid.
