Corten steel decorations for outdoor spaces

All decorations are made at our own factory in Denmark. We work with simple shapes, letting the design and the steel itself take centre stage. This leaves room for you to make the display your own with plants, lights and things you already have at home.

Corten steel develops its colour over time

Corten steel is known for its rust-coloured surface. When exposed to the elements, the steel gradually develops a patina in shades ranging from orange and reddish brown to darker brown. The colour changes as the patina develops, and no two decorations will have exactly the same finish.

This patina is part of the material’s character. A new decoration may therefore look different from one that has been outdoors for some time. Moisture, weather and placement all affect how quickly the surface develops.

The warm rust tones work well with green garden plants, bare branches and materials such as wood, stone and brick. This makes the decorations easy to use in different settings and alongside other decorations that change with the seasons.

Make room for seasonal decorations

A decoration does not need to be part of a large display. A single figure by the door or beside a planter may be enough. If you have more space, group several figures together and use different heights to create variety.

At Christmas, combine corten steel with fir branches, pine cones and small lights. At Easter, spring flowers and branches can frame the display, while pumpkins and autumn leaves suit a Halloween arrangement. Let the season guide your choice of accessories and use the same spaces in your garden in new ways.

Position the decorations so their silhouettes stand out clearly. A simple backdrop, such as a house wall, hedge or entrance, lets the figures stand out without needing much extra decoration.

Decorations to use again and again

The steel’s surface develops over time, but the figures can return to their place year after year. Keep an arrangement you enjoy or change it with new plants and other decorations.
